Mary Washington Slips Past R-MC 1-0
FREDERICKSBURG, VA-- Sophomore Ryan Taibl scored the game's lone goal at 83:56 to give the University of Mary Washington men's soccer team a 1-0 shutout win over visiting Randolph-Macon College on Wednesday afternoon in Fredericksburg.
R-MC drops to 2-3 on the season with the loss. The Eagles improve to 5-0 on the season, and extend their shutout streak to five straight.
Taibl broke the scoreless tie with a right-footed blast from inside the penalty box, coming off a cross from Vincent Kooijman that was redirected by Michael Johnson.
Greg Savage had two saves in recording his second solo shutout for UMW. Jason DePre made six stops for Randolph-Macon.
Randolph-Macon will be back on the pitch Saturday when it travels to Salisbury for a 2:00 p.m. match. The Eagles will visit Greensboro College on Saturday in a key regional match at 2:00 p.m.
