No. 25 Randolph-Macon Picks Up 72-59 ODAC Road Win at Hampden-Sydney

HAMPDEN-SYDNEY, VA – Jordan Brown led four Yellow Jackets in double figures as No. 25 Randolph-Macon College topped home standing Hampden-Sydney College 72-59 in ODAC Men’s Basketball action Saturday afternoon.
R-MC (12-2 / 6-1 ODAC), which has now won 11 games in a row, fell behind the Tigers 13-0 early in the game when Turner King drained a three pointer 4:27 into the contest.
The Jackets rallied and went on a 22-8 run, taking the lead 22-21 when Brown made a lay up with 8:11 left in the half.
H-SC (8-5 / 2-4 ODAC) regained the lead and opened up a seven point advantage at 33-26 when Karlis Tropps knocked down a jumper with 2:44 left. R-MC then got back-to-back buckets from Brown and Justin Short to cut the Tigers advantage to 33-30 at the break.
R-MC opened up the second-half with a 14-4 run, taking a 47-37 lead when Short drained a jumper with 13:38 to play.
H-SC chipped away and cut the R-MC advantage to 54-50 when Jyril Laakso made a jumper with 8:53 to play, but R-MC sealed the game with a 14-5 run over the next 6:50 and took a 68-55 advantage on a Brown lay up with just over two minutes remaining.
David Carlson joined Brown in double figures with 15 points along with Short and Jeremy Dixon who both had 14 points in the win.
Randolph-Macon will return to action on Wednesday night when it hosts ODAC rival Bridgewater College in Ashland at 7:00 p.m.
