Ralston King Finishes Second at ODAC Golf Championship; Shrader Named Rookie-of-the Year
ASHLAND, VA – The Randolph-Macon golf team finished in fourth-place at the 2008 ODAC Golf Championships at Poplar Grove Golf Course in Amherst behind a second-place individual finish from Ralston King. Michael Shrader was also tabbed as the ODAC Rookie-of-the-Year by the league’s head coaches.
R-MC, which shot a 947 over the three-day tournament, was paced by King who fired a final round 77 to finish with a three-day total of 224 to take the second spot and earn First-Team All-ODAC accolades.
After disqualifying in round one, Shrader finished the tournament with an 82 in the final round and was named Second-Team All-ODAC. Nick Fallon shot a 76 in the final round to finish with a 235 and was named Honorable Mention All-ODAC. Tim Wehner and Chris Bresnahan carded 244 and 251, respectively for the tournament for R-MC.|
Washington and Lee won the league championship with a three-day score of 909. The Generals' Nathaniel James took ODAC Player of the Year honors after firing a 222 for the tournament to garner individual medalist honors. Guilford finished second with a 919 and Hampden-Sydney placed third with a 929.
