Randolph-Macon Field Hockey Tops Bridgewater College 2-0
ASHLAND, VA – The Randolph-Macon College field hockey scored two second-half goals as the Yellow Jackets topped visiting Bridgewater College 2-0 Friday afternoon in an ODAC match played in Ashland.
The teams battled to a scoreless tie at half-time with each team registering eight shots in the opening 35 minutes. R-MC broke the dead lock when Nicole Klee sent in a shot off a fast break that beat BC keeper Elizabeth Sullivan with just under 25 minutes remaining in the match.
R-MC padded its advantage at the 63:08 mark when Lindsey Walker delivered a goal on a great individual effort that extended the Yellow Jackets lead to 2-0.
Ashley Crouch recorded the shut out for R-MC, notching eight saves in the victory. Sullivan registered seven saves in a losing effort.
R-MC held a 21-13 advantage in shots while each team had nine penalty corners on the afternoon.
The Jackets will host Frostburg State on Saturday in a 12:00 p.m.
