R-MC Baseball Halts Losing Skid with 14-4 ODAC Win at Eastern Mennonite

HARRISONBURG, VA – The Randolph-Macon College baseball team put a halt to its brief three game losing streak on Tuesday with a 14-4 ODAC road win at Eastern Mennonite behind a strong start from Matt Tiller and a grand slam from JC Conway.
The Yellow Jackets remain in second place in the conference and are now 13-10 overall and 6-2 in the ODAC while EMU falls to 7-17 on the year and 3-5 in the conference. Hartt was 2-for-5 at the dish with two runs scored and three RBIs.
Conway went 2-for-4 with four RBIs in the win for Randolph-Macon while Adam Carpenter had two hits in four trips to the plate with two runs scored and three RBIs.
Yellow Jacket starting pitcher Matt Tiller went six strong innings to pick up the win as he allowed 10 hits and four runs, no earned, while striking out nine. Kyle Hicks and Steve Craun closed out the win for RMC.
Randolph-Macon opened up the game with a four spot in the top of the first as Hartt brought home three runs on a home run over the left-center field fence. The Yellow Jackets scored another run in the inning before the Royals came up to bat.
Designated hitter Zach Polloni got EMU on the board in the bottom half of the inning as he plated two runs on an RBI single up the middle to cut the RMC lead in half.
The visiting Yellow Jackets went on to score a run in the top of the fourth before scoring four runs in the fifth and another five runs in the seventh to ice the win.
R-MC returns to action on Thursday on the road at Shenandoah University at 3:00 p.m.
