Black History in Story & Song is an entertaining journey through the history of African-Americans. Nationally acclaimed African-American interpreter and storyteller, Jerome Bridges, will perform riveting first-person accounts of slavery prior to the Civil War as well as insights into the Civil Rights struggles of 1955-1965 from the perspective of a black newspaper reporter. Accompanying Mr. Bridges will be the George Crawford Memorial Choir from Richmond’s Providence Park Baptist Church and a community chorus from Hanover County churches. There will also be an art exhibit with works by Hanover artist Dennis Winston.

Performances of Black History in Story & Song will be on Friday, February 8 & Saturday, February 9, 2008 at 7:30 p.m. at Blackwell Auditorium, Randolph-Macon College Center for the Performing Arts. Admission is free and open to the public.
