Randolph-Macon College on the Tour for Virginia Private College Week
High-school students and their families are invited to participate in Virginia Private
College Week from July 28-August 2, hosted by the Council of Independent
Colleges in Virginia (CICV).
Randolph-Macon College, along with 23 other private member colleges of CICV, are
joining together to sponsor a statewide series of free campus open houses, and information
sessions about admissions, financial aid and academic programs. College officials
will also address common myths regarding the cost of a private college education.

Students who visit at least three campuses during Virginia Private College Week
will receive three application fee waivers at any three participating CICV colleges.
“Virginia Private College Week is an opportunity for students and parents to see
firsthand the quality, diversity and affordability of private colleges in the Commonwealth,”
says Randolph-Macon College President Robert R. Lindgren. “We encourage interested
students and their families to visit our campus and learn the real value of a private,
liberal arts education and how we prepare students for extraordinary success after
In-state students attending a Virginia private college are eligible for the Tuition
Assistance Grant (TAG). A program of the Commonwealth of Virginia, TAG will be offer
$3100 for 2014-2015. It is not based on need or merit and is an annual grant available
for four years at the undergraduate level.
Sessions at most colleges will begin at 9:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m., Monday through Friday,
and at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 2.
