S. Chris Jones '80
Randolph- Macon College alumnus Del. S. Chris Jones ’80, R-Suffolk,
was named chairman of the House Appropriations Committee on December 4, 2013. Jones
was named chairman by House Speaker William J. Howell, R-Stafford. The story was
covered in the December 5, 2013 edition of the
Jones, who earned his B.S. in pharmacy from the Medical College of Virginia in 1982,
is a pharmacist and president of Bennett’s Creek Pharmacy in Suffolk, Virginia.
He was elected to the Virginia House of Delegates in 1998 and has served on numerous
committees, including: Privileges and Elections, General Laws, Appropriations, and
Rules. Jones served as the mayor of Suffolk from 1992 to 1996 and was vice mayor
from 1986 to 1990. He is also a clinical assistant professor of pharmacy and pharmaceuticals
at the VCU School of Pharmacy.
