The Randolph-Macon College
Equestrian Team traveled to Towson University on November 10, 2012 for the final Intercollegiate Horse Show Association (IHSA) show of the fall season.
R-MC came home as High Point Team of the show, an incredible accomplishment.
Mary Margaret Peterson ’13,
Sierra Wangensteen ’13,
Kristin Kunz ’16 and
Sydney Stephens ’16 won first place in their classes, pushing the team well on the way to their 38-point win. Impressive placings by
Emily Watt ’13 and
Brooklyn Hendricks ’15 also contributed to the win.
In addition, two riders earned enough points from their wins to move to the next division. Petersen will now compete in the Open Fences division and
Catherine Bailey-Sullivan ’13 will now compete in the Novice rider division.
“This win for a new team is a tremendous accomplishment,” says
Team Director Dana Lesesne. “It is evidence of the hard work that both our riders and our team coach, Jessica Straus, have put in since they arrived in Ashland in August. We look forward to the spring semester and are planning to get started riding as soon as we return in January!”
