11/8/12The Randolph-Macon College
Equestrian Team competed at Christopher Newport University on November 3, 2012. The team ended the day in 4th place overall.
“It was a huge accomplishment,” says
Team Director Dana Lesesne. “The teams ahead of us were CNU, Goucher and Mary Washington College, all IHSA (Intercollegiate Horse Show Association) powerhouses with well over 30 members per team. I am very proud of the consistently excellent riding on the part of our team.” The R-MC team brought eight horses from its training facility, Haverhill Equestrian Center, for CNU to use in the show.
On November 4, the team traveled to William & Mary for another full day of showing.
Mary Margaret Petersen ’13 won her Intermediate Over Fences class and
Kristin Kunz ’16 was first in the Walk/Trot division. Strong placings by
Devney Hoft ’16,
Sydney Stephens ’16, and
Catherine Bailey-Sullivan ’13 put the team in 7th overall for the day.
“We were also happy to welcome many R-MC parents who traveled to watch their students ride this weekend,” says Lesesne.
