Randolph-Macon College President Robert R. Lindgren is pleased to announce the tenure and/or promotion of six faculty members, which were approved during the spring meeting of the Board of Trustees.
The following faculty members are granted tenure and promotion to Associate Professor: Amy B. Armenia (
sociology) joined the faculty in 2008. She earned her B.S., M.A. and Ph.D. from the University of Massachusetts Amherst.
Chirashree Bhattacharya (
mathematics) joined the faculty in 2003. She earned her B.Tech. from the Indian Institute of Technology, India, her M.S. from Carnegie Mellon University and her Ph.D. from the University of Virginia.
Bryan A. Giemza (
English) joined the faculty in 2008. He earned his B.A. from the University of Notre Dame. He earned his J.D., M.A. and Ph.D. from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
Benjamin I. Huff (
philosophy) joined the faculty in 2006. He earned his B.A. from Brigham Young University and his M.A. and Ph.D. from the University of Notre Dame.
The following faculty member was granted tenure: Alphine W. Jefferson (
history) joined the faculty in 2005. He earned his A.B. from the University of Chicago and his M.A. and Ph.D. from Duke University.
The following faculty member was promoted from Associate Professor to full Professor: Alva T. Hughes ’81 (
psychology) joined the faculty in 1991. She earned her B.S. from Randolph-Macon College and her M.S. and Ph.D. from the University of Maryland College Park.
