The Campus Safety Task Force partnered with the Randolph-Macon College Emergency Response Team (ERT) to conduct an emergency systems training exercise on Friday, March 16, 2012. The Campus Safety Task Force included members of the Ashland Police Department, Hanover Sheriff’s Office, Hanover Fire and EMS.
“The exercise was successful and provided a valuable learning experience for everyone who participated,” said Ashland Police Chief Doug Goodman. “This was an important exercise which allowed our first responders to practice the safety procedures put in place to help protect our community,” said Goodman. “We’re grateful to Randolph-Macon for working so closely with us.”
The purpose of the exercise was to prepare members of the Campus Safety Task Force and Randolph-Macon ERT in the event of an actual emergency. In the coming weeks, Randolph-Macon and law enforcement partners will review outcomes of this exercise to identify opportunities for continuing improvement on current protocols.
