Franklin Debating Society members collectively and individually put on a series of fine performances at the recent Collegiate Forensic Association's Winter Tournament, hosted by the College of Charleston in South Carolina. R-MC won overall 1st Place.
Individually, students did as follows: Hayley Williamson ’13: 1st in pentathlon; 1st place individual parliamentary debater; 2nd place parliamentary debate team; 3rd in persuasive; 4th in impromptu; 5th in dramatic interpretation; 2nd in dramatic duo
Crystal Thomas ’14: 3rd in pentathlon; 4th place individual parliamentary debater; 2nd place parliamentary debate team; 5th in extemporaneous; 6th in prose interpretation; 2nd in dramatic duo
Ethan Franz ’12: 2nd in pentathlon; 3rd place in Lincoln-Douglas debate; 2nd place in humorous speaking; 3rd in impromptu; 4th place in poetry interpretation; 4th place in dramatic interpretation
Raymond Ruybe ’15: 6th in pentathlon; 3rd place parliamentary debate team; 3rd in extemporaneous; 5th in humorous speaking; 6th in poetry interpretation
Matt Launderville ’13: 5th place individual parliamentary debater; 3rd place parliamentary debate team; 2nd in communication analysis
Sean Smith ’15: 1st in prose interpretation; 3rd in poetry interpretation
