Ermitte St. Jacques |
On Wednesday, April 6, 2011, Randolph-Macon College will host guest lecturer Ermitte St. Jacques as part of its “Edgy Women” series. St. Jacques will present “Transnational Strategies for Surviving the Economic Crisis among West African Immigrants in Spain” at 7:00 p.m. in Washington-Franklin Hall.
This event is free and open to the public.
St. Jacques will examine the relationship between the economic integration of Senegalese and Gambian immigrants in Catalonia, Spain and their participation in transnational activities that enable them to maintain multiple social ties with their countries of origin. St. Jacques is a postdoctoral research fellow at the Annenberg School for Communication, University of Pennsylvania.
