R-MC alumni, faculty and students are invited to the Saturday, April 30, 2011 performance of “Cyrano de Bergerac” at the Folger Theatre in Washington, D.C.
“Cyrano de Bergerac” is a romance of 17th-century France that centers on a fascinating and poignant love triangle. Cyrano secretly adores Roxanne but fears she could never share the sentiment because of his legendary nose. Instead, he uses his gift for wit and wordplay to help his tongue-tied friend Christian woo her. Will she be won by Christian’s appearance or Cyrano’s soul?
This is the first Beverly Randolph Carter Trip to the Folger Center. The trip is sponsored by the Randolph-Macon College
English Department and supported by a gift from the late Beverly Randolph Carter III '57.
A chartered bus will leave campus at 11:00 a.m. and return by 6:00 p.m. (The matinee begins at 2:00 p.m.) A boxed lunch will be served on the trip to the theatre, and refreshments will be served on the return trip.
There is no cost for this event, which is open to R-MC alumni, faculty and students.
