The
Office of Student Life at Randolph-Macon College will host the fourth annual Student Leadership Conference on Saturday, March 5, 2011 from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. The theme of this year’s conference is “Rethinking Leadership.”
The keynote address will be presented by nationally-recognized author and educator Nancy Hunter Denney. Denney’s presentation, “Zing! Your Life and Leadership,” will reinforce the overarching theme of the conference through real-life examples and thought-provoking challenges. Students will be encouraged to rethink their leadership and management styles as well as their ideas, opinions, and biases.
Breakout sessions will follow the keynote address. R-MC faculty, staff and community members will lead sessions on Leadership Triangulation, Social Entrepreneurship, Secrets of a World Class Organization, Public Speaking, according to James McGhee, R-MC assistant dean of students. “This is a great opportunity for students to actively participate in their own development as leaders and to learn from the experiences and insights of our incredible presentation team,” says McGhee.
Breakfast and lunch are included in the conference, which is free for R-MC students.
