Richmond Guitar Quartet to Perform at R-MC

Randolph-Macon College will host the Richmond Guitar Quartet on Sunday, February 28, 2010 at 4:00 p.m. in St. Ann’s Performing Arts Building. This event is free and open to the public.

The Richmond Guitar Quartet is quickly gaining a reputation for exciting and versatile performances throughout Virginia. The group combines standard repertoire with new transcriptions, arrangements and compositions by Richmond-based musicians.

Andrew McEvoy, Nathan Aldhizer, Matt Rise and Ron Alig will collaborate with acclaimed banjoist/mandolinist/guitarist Adam Larrabee, who has appeared as a sideman on Bruce Hornsby’s album, “Spirit Trail.” In 2006, Larrabee won an Independent Music Award for his composition, “Norwegian Slip,” in the world/fusion category. Andrew McEvoy teaches guitar at Randolph-Macon College.
