RE: Delayed College Opening on Thursday, February 11, 2010
The Randolph-Macon Emergency Response team is continuing to review information available from numerous weather sources, which currently shows that early morning temperatures will be below freezing on Thursday, February 11.
To help address our primary concern, the safety of the R-MC Community, the college will delay opening on Thursday, February 11 until 9:45 a.m. All Essential Personnel should report at their regular time.
We remind each person to use extreme caution when driving through campus or using parking lots, sidewalks and building entrances, as some ice and snow may still remain, despite the heroic efforts of our physical plant staff to remove this.
We ask that you continue to monitor the following for the latest and most dependable information regarding any future changes to Randolph-Macon’s operating hours and schedules:
- Your Randolph-Macon College E-mail account
- The Randolph-Macon Web site: www.rmc.edu
- The official School Closing Hotline at: (804) 752-3633
As always, we urge each individual to use their own discretion regarding their personal safety in reporting to work given road and travel conditions in their specific area. If the college remains open and you are unable to report to work or will be late due to weather conditions, you must contact your supervisor and advise them of your situation. The Inclement Weather Policy in the Staff Handbook found on the College website will apply and outlines various ways that staff can account for their missed time. This policy addresses the status for both, exempt and non-exempt staff.
Thank you for your cooperation and please travel safely!
