| Jason Crawford '12: "The close interaction that students have with professors is really important to me." |
Jason Crawford ’12, a native of Ontario, came to R-MC as a transfer student. “I transferred from Brock University in Canada,” says Crawford, “because I wanted to play lacrosse for the Yellow Jackets and because I was wanted to attend a smaller college. The close interaction that students have with professors at R-MC is really important to me.”
R-MC’s community atmosphere made a big impression on Crawford. “I was impressed by the small class sizes and how interested the professors are in seeing students succeed,” he says. “It’s such a contrast to my previous school, where my classes each had around 500 students.”

“I met Coach Plantholt, R-MC’s lacrosse coach, just prior to the world championships and his perspectives on the game and his experience as a NCAA (National Collegiate Athletic Association) player contributed to my decision to come to R-MC.” Last season, Crawford was a member of the All-ODAC Academic Team.
Crawford chose a business/economics major because he is “interested in learning how the economy is run—and how it is sustained.” He plans on traveling to England text January Term in conjunction with a marketing class that will be offered. “I’d like to get another perspective of aspects of the economy,” says Crawford.
Crawford hopes to build a career in economics or marketing. “I’d like to find a job somewhere in the northern part of the U.S. because I would be closer to my hometown,” he says. “Economics is an area I am really interested in and it is important that I find career that will make me enjoy going to work every day.”
