On Sunday, January 24, 2010, The Richmond Symphony Orchestra returns to Randolph-Macon College for the third installment of its Metro Collection Concert Series, titled
The Four Seasons of Buenos Aires. See—and hear—the musicians of the Richmond Symphony perform “conductor-less.”
The performance will take listeners to Buenos Aires, where they will experience the four seasons through a tango suite.
Piazzolla’s Las Cuatro Estaciones Portenas is inspired by Vivaldi’s
The Four Seasons.
The concert will begin at 3:00 p.m. and will take place in Blackwell Auditorium in R-MC’s Center for the Performing Arts. Admission at the door: $27 for adults, $24 for seniors, $10 for children and $5 for students with valid college ID. Seating is on a first-come, first-served basis.
To purchase tickets, call the Richmond Symphony Box Office at (804) 788-1212.
Bonus – Get up close and personal with the musicians of the Richmond Symphony Orchestra before each concert at R-MC. Attend a pre-concert discussion at 2:00 p.m. in the Thomas Branch Atrium. R-MC Associate Professor of Music James Doering will lead the discussion with a member of the symphony. Open and free to all.
