Molly Ariail has been named the 2009
Women's DIII News Preseason Player of the Year. The announcement was made in the publication’s special
Preseason Preview issue.
Ariail, a
Women's DIII News All-American last season as a junior, averaged 17.7 points and 8.8 rebounds for the Yellow Jackets. She was the Old Dominion Athletic Conference Player of the Year for the 2008-2009 season.
“Molly is no doubt one of the top frontcourt players in Division III this season,” said
DIII News editor Gary Rubin. “She is expected to have another outstanding year and is most deserving of this award.”
Ariail heads the publication’s
Top 24 All-Americans, which features three players from each of the eight regions.
