Randolph-Macon mourns the loss of one of its own, Eric Farag, who was killed in an automobile accident on January 24th in Winchester, Virginia.
Eric was a sophomore at R-MC and was passionate about film studies and filmmaking. He was enrolled in a January-term course titled Documentary Filmmaking taught by visiting French director Francoise Marie.
“We are deeply saddened by this tragic loss,” said R-MC president Robert Lindgren. “There has been an outpouring of love and support from the Randolph-Macon community for Eric’s family and our hearts and prayers go out to them.” Eric’s family conveyed their appreciation to the College and added that “Eric loved R-MC.”
Counseling services are available for students through R-MC’s Counseling Center and Student Affairs staff.
A service was held for Eric on Tuesday, January 27th at St. Mark Coptic Orthodox Church in Washington, DC. (11911 Braddock Road, Fairfax, VA). The family has requested that any donations be made to the church in lieu of flowers.
