The Richmond Symphony Orchestra will perform the second installment of its Haydn Festival Series on Sunday, November 23, 2008 at 3:00 p.m. in Blackwell Auditorium, R-MC Center for the Arts. Under the direction of Associate Conductor Erin Freeman, the concert–
Haydn meets Beethoven – will feature music influenced by Franz Joseph Haydn, including works by Beethoven, Bach and Fux.
The Richmond Symphony was founded in 1957 by a small group of music aficionados who wanted to bring a professional orchestra to Central Virginia. During its inaugural season, the Symphony performed only three concerts; today, the orchestra makes more than 200 public appearances each season.
