Are you passionate about learning and your academic major? Are you a caring individual? Do you want to make a difference in the lives of others? If so, then an education minor from R-MC may be in your future!
Randolph-Macon's Teacher Education Program is a Virginia Department of Education approved educator preparation program and is accredited by the Teacher Education Accreditation Council (TEAC). The program is designed to produce reflective practitioners who are highly qualified in their content area and 21st century teaching skills; caring individuals who are committed to children, youth and their families; embrace and celebrate diversity; and qualified to teach under the Commonwealth of Virginia's regulations for teacher licensure.
Our accredited program offers a path to licensure across a broad array of disciplines, including:
Elementary PK-6 – Any R-MC major
Secondary 7-12 – Major areas: biology, physics, chemistry, English, French, German, Latin, Spanish, history and social science, and mathematics
Music Education – K-12 – Music Major
Our education courses integrate classroom and experiential learning, opportunities for collaborative research, civic and global engagement, personalized guidance, and leadership development.
The great news is that R-MC's education graduates enjoy a wonderful connection/network to alums to find good jobs across the nation. Without a doubt, our students are recognized as being the best and the brightest because they are thoroughly prepared for success in the classroom.
