Class of 1998 Communication Updates

April 24, 2998
Dear Class of 1998:
As we prepared for our graduation in 1998, President Clinton was facing impeachment, the Chicago Bulls clinched their 6th NBA title in 8 years, and Michael Jordan played his last game as a Bull. Apple Computer unveiled the iMac and Europe introduced the euro. The top music hit was “Sunny Came Home” by Shawn Colvin and “Titanic” won the Oscar for best movie. Can you believe it has been ten years since we graduated from The Center of the Universe? Just think of all the unknowns that we faced leaving R-MC: What was I going to do? Where was I going to live? Who was I going to meet?
Ten years later we have accomplished many of those things that scared us at graduation. We have tried many careers, we have lived all over, and some of us are married and have families. It’s time to return to R-MC and reunite with our classmates from the Class of 1998.
By now you should have received the “Save the Date” card for Reunion Weekend. If you did not, please mark your calendar for October 23-26, 2008. Our reunion activities begin on Thursday night with a performance by the “Capitol Steps” in Crenshaw Gym. Friday there will be events and classes going on that you can attend. And don’t miss out on the Black Tie Gala held in the Brock Center Friday evening. On Saturday, there will be a huge tailgate party leading up to the football game. After the tailgate, there is an oyster roast. And on Saturday night we will have our class reunion event.
You will receive more information as we work out the details for the weekend. But in the mean time, please feel free to check out our class web page: http://www.rmc.edu/Alumni/reunions.aspx. There are some “classic” photographs posted that we are sure you will enjoy! And PLEASE take time to check the “Lost Alunni” tab and help us locate our classmates. The more of us who attend this weekend, the more memorable it will be.
In keeping with Randolph-Macon tradition, the Committee is promoting annual giving. Our goal is to raise $25,000 from of our classmates. We want to thank you in advance for your consideration and generosity.
We look forward to seeing you!
