On May 19, 2012 the 1990s Initiative Steering Committee and the Office of Annual Giving hosted hundreds of alumni, family and friends on campus for the first Alumni Spring Fling. This fun event featured live music, food, kids activities and more!

More than 100 alumni and friends gathered at the 90s Decade Tailgate Party at the football matchup against Hampden-Sydney on Saturday, November 12. It was a beautiful fall day in the Center of the Universe – an excellent day for a rousing victory over our rivals!

Randolph-Macon College’s Society of Alumni honored the 90s Initiative Steering Committee, led by Graham Rashkind ’96, chair, and Ainslie Rose ’96, vice chair, with a well-deserved Yellow Jacket Salute during the annual Homecoming Awards Luncheon on Friday, October 14, 2011. Happy New Year! It's the first day of the year here on campus and we couldn't be more thankful to our wonderful alumni who showed their support. Thanks to you, we ended the year on June 30, 2011 with 37% alumni participation and the 90s Decade of Alumni reached an amazing 32% participation (a 6% increase over last year)! This exceeded our goal and will mean a great deal to students in the coming school year. R-MC alumni are THE BEST alumni! Please take a moment to thank your

The fiscal year end, June 30, is just weeks away and 1990s alumni edge closer to the decade giving participation goal of 30%! As of May 31, 2011 the decade stands at 21% alumni giving participation. With just weeks left in the fiscal year, time is of the essence.
To reach the 30% participation goal, 206 more alumni from the 1990s will need to make a gift of any size, to any area of the College, between now and June 30, 2011. If you have not yet made your gift this year please consider doing so today by visiting

1990s alumni continue to make strides toward the decade giving participation goal of 30%, which represents a 4% growth in participation over last year. The decade currently stands at 13.3% alumni giving participation, which is 1.6% ahead of this time last year. With just 3 months left in the fiscal year, time is of the essence.
To reach the 30% participation goal, 362 more alumni from the 1990s will need to make a gift of any size, to any area of the College, between now and June 30, 2011. If you have not yet made your gift this year please consider doing so today by visiting www.rmc.edu/givenow.
In other 90s Initiative news, the steering committee which leads this effort meets this month to map out a plan for the next 12 to 15 months. On February 19, 2011 more than 400 alumni and friends gathered at the Jefferson Hotel in Richmond for a 1990s Decade Celebration. Decade-long friendships were renewed and continued, new, happy memories were made and many said it was a night they will remember for a long time. One year later, the 90s Initiative is making headway! Halfway through the fiscal year, giving participation among 90s classes stands at 11.09%, 1 percentage point ahead of this time last year. 90s alumni events are also seeing outstanding attendance, and reunion committees for the Classes of 1991 and 1996 are off to a fantastic start.
December 2010
In December 2010 alumni from 1990 to 1999 were invited to complete an online survey to gauge their interests and level of engagement regarding Randolph-Macon College, and to help guide the work of the 90s Initiative moving forward. 197 alumni, or about 9% of all 90s alumni, completed the survey, which showed many encouraging results as well as specific areas to be targeted for improvement. On November 5, 2010 forty alumni and friends gathered at the home of Joyce Balcer Morris ’95 and Garret Morris ’95 in Towson, Maryland to connect with fellow alumni and hear about the current direction of the College and the Campus Master Plan. Randolph-Macon College President Robert Lindgren was in attendance, and enjoyed a lively exchange of ideas and information with attendees. Dr. Sabra Klein ’92 and her husband, Drew Maloney ’91, established the Sabra Klein Maloney ’92 Fellowship Program for Women in the Sciences, which is designed to support students who are interested in research opportunities in the lab sciences. Click here to learn more.
Also in May, 90s Initiative alumni events were hosted in Arlington, Virginia at the home of Ainslie Rose ‘96 and in Richmond, Virginia at the home of Tad Melton ‘97. President Robert Lindgren attended both events, which brought together around 50 alumni and friends to learn about the current direction of the College.
