Admissions Office: Transfer Admissions Process
Complete Application Snapshot
Your application will be complete once we have received all of the following materials:
- Your completed application form (online or paper version)
- $30 application fee (for paper applications)
- Final transcript of your secondary school record
- Transcripts from all colleges where you have taken courses (if applicable)
- Recommendation from counselor, professor, principal or teacher
- SAT or ACT scores
To apply to Randolph-Macon College, you'll need to follow a few simple steps:

The Application
When applying to R-MC, you'll need to complete and submit an application form. You may submit an online application, paper application, or Common Application. The $30 application fee is waived for online applications.
If you are submitting a paper application, mail your completed application form along with the non-refundable $30 application fee to:

Transcript and Recommendation
Have your secondary school counselor mail an official copy of your transcript along with a letter of recommendation to the R-MC Admissions Office (same address as above). We only require one letter of recommendation and it may come from a professor, advisor, or principal.

SATs and ACTs
If you have taken the SAT or ACT, please have an official copy of your scores sent to us from The College Board or ACT, or have your high school send an official, certified copy of your scores with your transcript. Transfer applicants who have earned (or plan to have earned, before enrolling at R-MC) their associate's degree are not required to submit SAT or ACT scores.
Transferring Credits to R-MC
College courses (from accredited 2-year or 4-year colleges), Advanced Placement, or International Baccalaureate courses may qualify for credit at R-MC. All accepted transfer applicants will have their college transcripts evaluated by our Registrar's Office and will receive a course transfer evaluation, detailing which courses will transfer and how much credit will be given at R-MC. In order for course credit to be accepted for a Randolph-Macon degree, the student must:

- In order for course credit to be accepted, you must earn a grade of C- or higher in the course.
- Transfer students can receive a maximum of 75 semester hours through all transfer credits.
- Transfer students must take at least one-half of the required courses in their major or minor at Randolph-Macon.
