Complete Application Snapshot
Your application will be complete once we have received all of the following materials:
- Your completed application form (online or paper version)
- $30 application fee (for paper applications only)
- Transcript of your secondary school record
- Transcripts from all colleges where you have taken courses (if applicable)
- Recommendation from secondary school counselor, headmaster, principal or teacher
- TOEFL scores (for non-native English speakers) and SAT scores (optional)
- Completed, signed Guarantor's Statement
1. Application Form
When applying to Randolph-Macon, you may submit an online application, paper application or Common Application form. A non-refundable $30 fee applies to all paper applications; there is no fee for online applications.

2. Official transcripts and academic documents
Ask your school to mail an official copy of your transcript to the address above, along with copies any additional documents, such as diplomas and/or exam scores (such as GCE "O" Level or "A" Level exams, HKCEE, HKALE, National Entrance Exam, or SAECE). If any of these documents are not in English, please provide a certified translation of all documents.
3. Letter of Recommendation
Please send a letter of recommendation from one of the following: counselor, teacher, principal or headmaster.
4. TOEFL Scores
Students whose first language is not English must take the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL). We accept all forms of the test. The minimum accepted scores are 550 for the paper-based test, 213 for the computer-based test, and 80 for the Internet-based test.
5. SAT Scores
The SAT Reasoning Test is optional for international applicants, but if you have taken the SAT, please make sure you request an official score report to be sent to R-MC from The College Board, or have a certified copy sent from your high school with your transcript. We do not require SAT Subject Tests, but we will consider them if submitted.
6. Notarized Guarantor's Statement
The Guarantor's Statement indicates your ability to finance a Randolph-Macon education. We must receive this document before you can enroll at R-MC and before we can issue an I-20 document, which will allow you to obtain an F-1 student visa to enter the United States.
Application Deadlines
March 1 - application deadline for fall semester entry - you will be notified by April 1.
Note: Randolph-Macon will accept applications after the deadline only if space is available.
Scholarships and Financial Aid
Randolph-Macon College offers numerous generous scholarship awards for students with strong academic records, as well as other grants for students from different international cultures. International students accepted to R-MC will be notified of these grants in their acceptance letter. (However, international students cannot receive federal-funded need-based aid.) International students in the 2007-2008 academic year will spend about $37,000 on academic and college-related expenses, including books and materials (about $1,000 per year). International students must also budget for travel and related expenses.
