Transfer Admissions
Continue your education at Randolph-Macon College, and you'll become part of a community where you're always an individual and never just another face in the crowd. Here you'll find opportunities to excel, both in the classroom and beyond, while you take advantage of options that help you make your education your own.
A personalized process: Because we understand the unique concerns and interests of transfer students, we work closely with you to answer all your questions and to make the application process as easy as possible.
A learning community: One of the most important things R-MC students and alumni will tell you they value in their R-MC experience is the close and enduring relationships students build with the dedicated faculty. R-MC's interdisciplinary curriculum features seminar-style classes, hands-on laboratories, and an emphasis on education beyond the classroom through programs including honors independent study, summer research fellowships, travel-study, internships, and service learning. To learn what some of our graduates are doing with their R-MC degrees, visit our individual academic majors and minors pages.
An affordable education: R-MC offers a wide range of options to help make your education affordable. Learn more about financial assistance.
The Process: Your application will be complete once we have received all of the following materials:
- Your completed application form (online or paper application.)
- $30 application fee (for paper applications - no fee for online applications)
- Final transcript of your secondary school record
- Transcripts from all colleges where you have taken courses
- Recommendation from counselor, professor, principal or teacher
- SAT or ACT scores (if applicable)
Deadlines: Transfer students may apply to enter Randolph-Macon in either the fall or spring semesters. For fall semester admission, the Priority Application Deadline is April 1 (We accept applications throughout the summer on a space-available basis). Decision notification is on May 1 (if all materials are received by April 1). Fall semester classes usually begin on Labor Day (first Monday in September). For spring semester admission, the application deadline is on December 1, with decision notification by January 1. Spring semester classes begin the second week of February.

"The professors are interested in seeing students succeed"
Ontario native Jason Crawford '12 transferred to R-MC from Brock University in Canada. A lacrosse player whose Canadian under-19 team competed in the world championships, Jason now plays goalie for the Yellow Jackets. Jason came to R-MC not only for lacrosse but also because "the close interaction that students have with professors at R-MC is really important to me," he says. "It’s such a contrast to my previous school, where my classes each had around 500 students." |
