The Philosophy of the International House
"The philosophy of the International House is to create an environment in which residents can experience an intercultural living arrangement. The International House consists of students from a variety of nationalities and cultures - including U.S. Americans. The goal of the International House is to foster intercultural friendships and experiences and to initiate cross-cultural learning opportunities for residents as well as the R-MC community. House members are expected to work together in planning, organizing and implementing activities throughout the year and thereby agree to make a commitment to the philosophy of the International House."
Welcome to the International House where different cultures diverge! Not only a good learning and living environment, this house also serves as an excellent place for different cultural events, inviting not only international students but also American students at Randolph-Macon college who want to be exposed to many new cultures. The International House is a special and unique interest housing for most international students, as well as for American students. Currently, there are 12 students living in the house. Additionally, the house is also fully equipped with many housing and learning facilities for the residents' convenience. However, everything comes with a price. All residents in the house have the responsibility to maintain good living and learning atmosphere in the house, as well as to share the tasks assigned by the house manager.
Other Living Options for International Students
Besides the International House, international students, as well as American students, have a variety of options to live in one of many dormitories available on campus. To find out more information about on campus housing, please visit The Office of Residence Life and Housing.
