Breakfast is a very important meal in Brazil. There is a wide variety of foods to choose from. Of course there were fruits like pineapple, mango, watermelon, strawberry, guava, jack fruit, cantaloupe, papaya, and passion fruit to enjoy. We also enjoyed juices that were made out of several of these fruits. Coffee is also a focal point of breakfast; Brazilian coffee is very sweet, strong and served in small cups.
Mozzarella cheese and slices of ham are served at breakfast as well. Breads are another huge part of a Brazilian breakfast.
There were different types of breads served, from croissants to various types of biscuits that were either covered in cheese or had some type of jelly filling. We also devoured Brazilian scrambled eggs and sausages, which were delicious. In Brazil, you can even enjoy black beans with yogurt in the morning. Brazilian breakfast buffets are a wonderful experience!
Darius - "Breakfast for me was one of the best meals of the day. To wake up to such a wide variety of fruits and cooked foods was a joy. In Brazil I experienced different types of breads and fell in love with waffles or at least the syrup that was served with them. A Brazilian breakfast is awesome."
Victoria - "The fruit in Brazil was so fresh and good! There were fruits such as the jaca (jack fruit) that I had never even heard of. It was some of the best fruit I have ever eaten!"
Ed - "Every morning was a drag. I am not much of a morning person, but staying at the Othon Palace in Salvador made it so much better. The hotel had the best syrup for their waffles that I have ever tasted. The Shalimar Hotel in Porto Seguro had the freshest fruit drinks one could imagine."
Jesse - "Breakfast has always been my favorite meal of the day and thanks to Brazil I don't think that will ever change. My typical Brazilian breakfast consisted of a variety of fresh and delicious fruits. I simply fell in love with the pineapple and papaya, which seemed to get more delectable by the day. The yogurt I ate was also very good and surprisingly different from what I am accustomed to. While at breakfast I did not find much use for my utensils. Everything was just finger-licking good!"
Ben - "There's nothing like waking up a little dehydrated and going to a Brazilian breakfast. The omelets are incredible, the array of fruits such as pineapple, melon and mango are enough to bring anyone back to life. The coffee is strong and sweet and the juices are fresher than any store bought brand."
