"My biggest thing is I LOVE KIDS, feel like I cant do enough to really help them in my activities. ..I just love them"
Ms. Henry was born and raised in Ashland. She has lived in Berkley Town for 20 some years.
An important part of Ms. Henry's childhood was school. She tells her grandchildren to stay into school.
"When I was in school we walked. We did not have bus transportation, today there are always busses picking up the children taking them to school and bringing them home"
Ms. Henry find it very important for the younger generations to stay in school. "Stay in school to get their education and to stay out of trouble"

Normal day: |
She would go to work the nursing home, then after work she was responsible for taking care of her children because of her husbands job:
"I was really involved in my boys activates because of my husbands with his activities job...I had to be the one to take them to their practices"
"But it was fun, it was fun, I enjoyed it. I loved other kids, we would pick them up if they did not have transportation" |

Integration: |
Ms. Henry made it very clear on the way that society has changed in the integration of blacks and whites. Since her time there has been many changes in Ashland.
Nursing homes - Ms. Henry focused on the integration of blacks and whites in nursing homes when it comes to staying in the same room as each other.
Ashland Schools - Ms. Henry focusing on the integration of blacks and whites in schools. When she was in school it was not integrated. She sees that the integration to day is important because the kids get to learn about each others cultures. |
