Agricultural Extension Agent Peace Corps Mali, West Africa
I am an Agricultural Extension Agent working for Peace Corps in Mali, West Africa. I work with the local Women's Association, the elementary school and the maternity. I mostly do capacity building projects and formations, teaching the women's association better management and business techniques, teaching women how to better care for themselves and their children using locally available resources. |

Every school night I tutor 1st, 3rd, 4th, and 7th grade students in French and English. I do use French on a daily basis. Most people in Mali speak at least rudimentary French, and upon arriving in a larger city it is difficult to find a Malian who does not speak French well. |

Peace Corps has been a wonderful experience, teaching me much about myself and increasing my knowledge of the world. Peace Corps to me has been becoming part of a family and helping them do all they can to make their lives better. Michelle with her Malian family |
