PSYCH 120
Children, Youth, Families, and Society
Course Description
This course will utilize a developmental perspective to examine
various issues involving children, youth, and their families in
society (e.g., media influences, child care, child abuse, effects
of poverty). Children both influence and are affected by the social
contexts in which they develop, and we will explore some of these
complex, multidirectional effects in depth. This course will emphasize
the application and real-world examples of how research and theory
in child development are used to affect children, youth, and families.
