Student Intern:
After you have been approved for the program and have confirmed a placement site, you must:
- register for the internship course
- meet as required with the faculty coordinator
- keep a log or journal of on-the-job experiences
- plan and complete a major project or paper related to the work
- complete a critique at the end of the work period

Work-site Supervisor:
The person who supervises interns at the worksite has the following responsibilities:
- assists you in preparing your work plan, ensuring a minimum of 130-hours on site
- provide meaningful work and adequate supervision
- trains and orients you as needed and informs other employees of your status with the organization
- evaluates your work performance through conversation with the faculty coordinator and by completing a performance evaluation form at the conclusion of the work period
- notifies the faculty coordinator and/or the director of the Bassett Internship Program if serious problems arise
Faculty Supervisor:
Your faculty supervisor will have the following responsibilities:
- assists in locating an appropriate placement site
- helps you prepare your work plan
- contacts the placement site prior to the beginning of the internship and maintains regular contact thereafter during the work period
- meets with you as required and assists in resolving any problems
- clarifies with you all expectations and requirements, including background reading, written reports or projects
- evaluates your performance in cooperation with the worksite supervisor and assigns the final grade
