Bassett (academic) Internship Program: Bassett internships offer you the opportunity to earn academic credit while gaining valuable real-world work experience.
General Information: R-MC courseCredit given by department (3 hours)Each department has an Academic Department Liaison for internshipsIntern may not receive wages or compensationAdmission Requirements Minimum GPA of 2.25Minimum hours earned: 48 (Junior Standing)Course RegistrationApplication completed and submitted by due dateParticipation Requirements Pre-Internship information session attendance160 hours recommended – 130 required for academic creditDaily reflective journal of internship activities and learningPlacement Model Student will work with/through appropriate Academic Department LiaisonDepartment Liaisons interview each student intern to determine each student’s internship objectives.In most cases, the Department Liaison is responsible for recruiting, selecting and vetting appropriate sites to match departmental learning objectives.Students may participate directly in the selection/development of a particular site (i.e. find their own internship), but all placements must be approved by the Department Liaison and each internship must meet admission and participation requirements and meet the learning objectives of the department and the Bassett Internship Program as a whole.

These resources can facilitate your internship search. Some of the internships on these resources are unpaid and may be appropriate for academic credit for students who meet the Bassett Academic Internship criteria. Many are paid, and, while not eligible for credit, can still provide valuable experience and networking opportunities.
There are internships available in in a variety of fields and locations both in the Ashland/Richmond area and nationwide. These listings change daily so check back often. Please pay close attention to the requirements, due dates, and application procedures for each internship as they vary widely.
