International Studies Minor
The core courses for the international studies major or minor are designed to be taken in sequence, and students majoring in international studies are expected to take the senior seminar in their senior year. Since planning for individual major programs will require the coordinated efforts of various departments, early identification of majors is essential.
Students are advised to declare their intention to major no later than the sophomore year, and they must obtain approval from the chair for selection of courses in order to ensure coherence. With the permission of the International Studies Council, students may substitute appropriate honors courses, internships, independent study, or courses taken as part of an overseas academic experience for courses on the major of for courses of related work.
No more than two courses used to satisfy the collegiate requirements may be counted on the major.
