A minor in international studies also is offered. This minor is organized under the assumption that there is a core to the study of international studies that transcends work in a particular geographic area of emphasis. Thus, this minor emphasizes core courses with more general content in theory and methodology, rather than geographic area courses with more specific content. As such, it represents a minor in international studies without a formal designation of concentration in a geographic area.
The minor in international studies emphasizes a core of knowledge and allows for breadth in a choice of electives. The minor requires 18 hours of coursework, including INST 251, 261, 321, ECON 201 or 203, and two additional elective courses from the concentrations within the International Studies Major.
