Potential career choices include environmental law, public service, federal or state government natural resource or regulatory agencies, environmental consulting, industrial hygiene, elementary and secondary education, engineering, and technical support. Positions in the fields of air quality, water quality, hydrogeology, geology, private industry including waste management or remediation, forestry, environmental conservation and restoration, and environmental citizen advocacy are possible with a strong preparation in environmental studies.
