Education: Student Organizations

The Student Education Association, one of the most active campus groups, is a pre-professional organization for education minors. The group is affiliated with the Student Virginia Education Association and National Education Association Student Programs. The  R-MC chapter offers programs and activities to benefit future teachers as well as local schools and the community. Our chapter has received state and local awards for the breadth and number of programs it has presented. Since 2010, the National Education Association awarded  four community service grants to the chapter.  Grant projects have included elementary math resource take-home bags, family health and fitness events, and promotions of teaching as a profession. This year our organization was recognized by the state organization for: Membership Increase Award and The 2013 Outstanding Excellence Award. http://www.rmc.edu/News/13-04-01-SVEA-Award.aspx  Membership is open to freshmen through seniors.
