No two students are alike and their four-year schedule of courses is not expected to be identical nor to rigorously follow some pre-set standard. However, most HPS programs rely on a few "core" courses that each applicant is required to have taken. At R-MC, entering students will have their FYC instructor as an advisor. While some advisors are quite comfortable with advising students who are interested in HPS programs, others are not. In either case, it's important to seek the advice of a member of the Pre-Medical Advisory Committee to insure that you are on the right track.
Below is a list of core courses required for most medical schools. Similar lists for other professions are given in the Appendices. Specific information for any particular school should be obtained directly from the school's websites, so you should begin your research by considering which medical schools you want to apply to.
